Founded in 1995 CABEZAS DE CERA (CDC) "The Wax Heads" are an instrumental trio from Mexico City. Their compositions embrace jazz, experimental music, world beat and popular Mexican music, but finding in rock and improvisation the freedom to fusion it all in a unique way that conform their exceptional compositions. This Aztec trio from the heart of Tenochtitlan is led by Mauricio Sotelo on Chapman Stick and 12 string acoustic guitar, propelled by brother Francisco Sotelo on drums/percussion, and Ramses Luna on windi midi, saxophone and clarinet. Together they are easily not only one of the best Mexican bands ever, but much more importantly, one of the most relevant and innovative rock bands in recent years. Cabezas de Cera is also featured in the new documentary "Romantic Warriors - A Progressive Music Saga" (2010) by Adele Schmidt and José Zegarra Holder.
