In 1959, Santo & Johnny hit the charts with the most unique guitar instrumental of all time. SLEEP WALK was the last (number 1) intrumental of the 50;s and earned them a Gold Record. Santo & Johnny's career was without a doubt a kaleidoscope of success. Soon followed by appearances on all of the Bandstand Shows, most notably: "The Clay Cole Show,: "The Merv Griffin Saturday night Prom," and "The Perry Como Show." They were picked up by an Italian label when Sleep Walk reached number 1 in Italy, and their career took off all over Europe, which brought their roots to Europe for the next 15 years. Their version of the Theme From The Godfather earned them a Gold Record and held the Number 1 position on the Italian charts for 26 weeks, and Santo & Johnny were inducted into the Italy Hall of Fame. In Mexico their recording of the Beattles song And I Love Her was number 1 for 21 weeks, and they were awarded The Golden Kangaroo Award, Mexico's biggest radio stations award. Throughout their career they released over 40 albums worldwide, had their own TV Show in Italy, and enjoyed performing in clubs and casinos throughout Europe and the US. SLEEP WALK won a Grammy in 1999 for Instrumental of the year. To date Sleep Walk has been featured in 21 movies, and used in countless commercials.
